At KDC, we are continuously working on improving our processes and models to enhance the efficiency and performance of infrastructure maintenance. Our project, ‘Maintenance Works Impact Model,’ investigates the feasibility of an impact model that accurately predicts the effects of maintenance on runway usage, environment, capacity, and costs. By simulating various scenarios, we can implement optimizations that not only align supply and demand but also consider other factors such as noise pollution and delay minutes. Communication with stakeholders around Schiphol is also emphasized in this model.
Last week, together with the board and management of KDC, we visited the maintenance works on the Buitenveldertbaan. This visit provided us with valuable insights into the practical applications of the concept model in the daily operations at Schiphol. With this concept model and the future prototype, we aim to support and improve the planning processes related to Schiphol maintenance, ensuring an optimal balance between efficiency and minimal disruption to the surrounding environment.
